xyst.wtf/why

Why Xyst? A Linktree alternative for people who care how it looks.

Most bio link pages give you a background colour and a button shape. This is every row, including the one we lose.

Row by row.

The table is read at a glance. This is what each tick, cross and phrase actually means, the row we lose first.

Store, courses, email list

Not yet

The row we lose, and we would rather you read it here than find out later. If you sell courses, run a newsletter funnel or need a checkout, use something that does that, and put its link on your page.

Design control

Every value on the card

A theme picker hands you a handful of looks and a button shape. Here the card colour, its opacity, the blur behind it, the corner radius, the avatar's roundness, every tint and every effect is a control of its own, and the page redraws as you move it.

Music on the page

Built in player

Not a streaming widget in a box. A player that belongs to the card, starts where you tell it to and carries your artwork. Upload a file or import one by url.

File hosting

5 GB, short links

The file host add-on turns the same account into an image and clip host: 5 GB for €4.99, bought once. The files stay yours after, because the purchase buys the space, not a subscription to it.

Analytics

Per link, not per page

Views, clicks, countries and referrers per link rather than per page, kept 14 days free and 90 on Premium. No third-party tracker gets near your visitors, and views over Tor or a VPN are never counted.

Extra handles

2 on Premium

An alias is a second name that answers with the same page, so /dev and /art can both be you. Premium comes with 2, and more are sold as an add-on.

Drag-and-drop layout

Move every block

On Premium the page stops being a column. Every block, and every part of a block, sits on a grid where you put it, across up to five screens that snap as a visitor scrolls.

Community templates

Apply in a click

A look somebody else published applies to your page in a click, files and all. You can publish 3 of your own on the free plan, 10 on Premium.

Machine readable

JSON API, README card, QR

One request returns your public page as JSON, no key and no sign-in. One SVG renders the card in a GitHub README. One click gives you a QR code for the back of a business card.

Custom domain

€2.49 a year, first on Premium

Point two DNS records at us and your page serves from your own name, certificate included. €2.49 a year, and Premium covers the first one.

What it costs

€0, or €5.99 once

Free is the product, not a trial of it. Premium is €5.99 paid once, and nothing here renews itself: no card is kept on file.
